I wonder what Queen Victoria would have made of the replica of her four-poster bed lavishly swagged with silk drapes and crowned with ostrich feathers in a large room with a gorgeous draped bay window from where you get a cheeky views of the sea. The walls are hung with portraits of Victoria's family and the marble fireplace and salon chairs are the crowning glory of this decadent and unashamedly camp piece of theatre and just like the other rooms, it is just sensational. Breakfasting amongst the potted greenery in the elegant Palm Court Dining Room completes the illusion that Ken and Phill have worked so hard to achieve in their super, stylish and wonderfully camp hotel in Charlotte Street Brighton. Paskins Gay Friendly Guest Accommodation, Charlotte Street, Brighton and Hove

www.paskins.co.uk

On my arrival at the Art Nouveau reception I was welcomed by a happy smiley member of staff who showed me to one of the 19 rooms, each of which are individual in design and perhaps a little quirky but not at the expense of being comfortable. I cannot decide which aspect of Paskins I find most appealing, whether it is the two fine town houses it occupies or the vibrant palette of the decor. There is of course the famous Art Deco breakfast room which is simply stunning, the individuality of the bedrooms, the amazingly good food and Susan and Roger's incredible passion to operate Paskins in an ethically responsible way without detriment to their guests' comfort or the environment. I know that it is now very vogue to make such claims, but these guys have been practising this for the last fifteen years. The breakfast room is special and it is easy to understand why so many Art Deco aficionados pay unconditional homage here. The menu provides an astonishing variety of imaginative vegetarian and vegan delights, 3 fishy dishes, a full English to die for and some intriguing specials. How cool can it be to arrive and relax in such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that bears not a hint of dust nor slavish attitudes to style?  This is Vivienne Westwood meets Amelia Earhart.

Ooh La La by name and definitely by nature. Ooh La La is a gorgeous powerful boutique motor yacht. Gosh, for all those that want to arrive in style and been seen, Ooh La La is for you. This stunning motor yacht is a real ego trip: arrive and leave in style. It's the only way to travel. Ooh La La is without doubt a head turner and the facilities on board are absolutely fabulous.
Ooh La La is a British designed and built boat with two powerful Volvo engines and she is fully coded to Maritime Coastguard Agency standards. The friendly and very professional crew are all accredited to RYA standards and the maximum number of guests aboard is six. Where you want to go and what you want do and see is only
limited by your imagination, the sea conditions and of course the Captain’s decision. You can eat on board or stop off at one of the many famous restaurants around The Solent and the south coast of England. What’s more, weather and sea conditions permitting, the skipper may allow you to take control under his expert supervision and steer this powerful motor yacht Ooh La La and believe me steering her is very different to driving a motor car and once you push the throttle forward, hold on tight because this pretty little lady just lifts up her skirts and just runs like the wind.
